Like all past Grand tournaments, this year's Grand will have a group stage on the first day followed by an elimination phase on the second day.
The 12 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 3 teams with the top 2 teams from each group, i.e. a total of 8 teams, advancing to the knock-out stage on the second day.
FIFA pointing system will be used-- with 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a defeat.
The ranking of each team in each group will be determined in the order of the following FIFA compliant rules.
greatest number of points obtained in all group matches;
goal difference in all group matches;
greatest number of goals scored in all group matches. If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:
greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;
greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned;
drawing of lots by the Organizing Committee for Grand 2007.
All games will be 90 minute in duration and 15 minute break between halves.
Penalty kick shootout will be immediately followed, if a playoff game ends in a tie after regular time.
In case of any controversy or unclarity due to the rules stated on this section we should fall to FIFA world cup rules as the default.
